There was these young’uns, Billy and Aoife, who just moved into a class new gaff in Belfast. As they were chomping on their breakfast, Aoife clocked their neighbour hanging her washing outside.
“Would ye have a gander at that, Billy! Her laundry’s pure stinking! She’s no notion how to do laundry. Maybe she needs a better soap powder,” Aoife said, shaking her head in disapproval.
Billy just listened and stayed quiet. But every time their neighbour hung her washing out to dry, Aoife kept making the same comments.
Fast forward a month later, and Aoife couldn’t believe her eyes. She saw a deadly clean wash on the line and turned to Billy saying, “Look, she’s finally learned how to wash proper. I wonder who taught her this?”
Billy just grinned and said, “I got up early this morning and cleaned our windows, pet.”
And that’s the moral of the story, folks! What we see when watching others depends on the clarity of the window through which we look. So, if you’re quick to judge others, especially if your perspective of life is clouded by anger, jealousy, negativity or unfulfilled desires, you might miss out on the bigger picture.
